I like both, a wide beam to walk with and to shine an ENTIRE tree in the summer, then a tight spot to focus on 1 area.........Tim

What the others said . A good walking beam gets you there in one piece for the important stuff . Sorta like your gun , you spend more time carrying it than shooting it so you like lightweight but it has to shoot straight when you pull the trigger .

Prefer wide beam for walking and to shine the entire tree. When a coon doesn't look at a wide beam I then use my spotlight.
