Score this?

Dog is treed threw the country... When cast arrives to tree they start shiny the tree... There were a lot of vines in the tree... When one of the cast members starting pulling vines a dead coon fell out of the tree... He looked like he had just died... I was the craziest thing I have seen in a while... Do you plus it or what... No other coons were seen. But it was a huge tree that was def a circle... What would you do?

Circle the tree, UKC does not allow you to plus a dead coon.

I don't believe UKC allows us to plus a dead coon. Circle or minus unless a live coon is seen in the tree.

You plus their strike points when they catch one on the ground even if it's dead when you walk in .... It was just a really weird situation and everybody on the cast handled it well...I was just curious if this has ever happened...

That is kinda weird. Bill is correct in the proper way to score it. Catching a coon on the ground and this scenario cannot really be compared. Otherwise, we might start finding too many dead coons in trees.

I remember when Kate treed a dead one on a other Kc hunt at Peru. Lol. First time I've ever seen it.

I don't remember that one. How did they scored it?

Back when it was still 100 points for first tree I got 200+ points on a dead coon. This is a true story, when my dog opened it was a locate ,i gave him a few seconds on the next bark I struck and treed him, waited the other 3 dogs didn't open,,lol I thought to myself well it's a possum, We walked into the tree in a small trash dump in a hollow behind an old farmhouse, coon was laying in the crotch of the tree dead as a doornail,,we put a ? mark on it when we got to the clubhouse the MOH asked all of us the usual questions about what happened ,he looked at all the other older handlers and said plus points for the kid and his hound ,good enough for a cast win and 7th place out of about 100 dogs if my memory is right,,,nice big hunt in Pa.

Lol I wasn't going to post it but we circled the tree... The dog was going crazy on the chain.... When we walked the min and cut the dog the dog ran back to the coon... The dog threw a half bark and the handler struck him then started yelling that he's caught a coon... So we plussed his strike because tech we haven't scored that coon.... It was a cluster but did not effect the outcome....
