Black and tan shepard mix

My friends Ive come home to find someone has left me a mixed breed pup. Says its gonna make a coonhound! Whats the chances it makes it ? It really favors a dog of yrs ago that was supposedly part australlian shepard Hmm what was his name ? I always heard it was a junkyard shepard that was his daddy . Either way he put some good and bad traits in his pups . Like shagg tales , darker tan , and some shyness . Lord I hope this one dont get any of the worse ones. So tell me what has been the exspierience you guys have had and dont tell me you aint never hunted a mix breed. If you aint you have missed out .

Old Shep

I had an old farm shepard, back on the farm, when i was 11 to 12 years old. My grand dad bought him from Obie Toler, he was supposed to have been a tree dog, but he didn't tree anything for about 3 or 4 months. Then one day, he treed a ground hog, he treed 3 in one day, after that first one he'd tree, about anything, that climbed a tree. He'd stay treed all day and into the next afternoon, till some one went to him, he would not pull to another dog, either. He'd stay with me, till the hounds, hit a good track, then he'd take off, and tree the coon ahead of the hounds, when the coon started to circle, old shep would tree him.
