Does anyone use wireless fencing on there hounds.
I am thinking about expanding my area and building a kennel. However if the wireless or invisible fencing work on a hound?
My dogs resepct the tone of an E-collar as well as they both wear bark collars daily. Just worried about if something would run through the yard.
Let me know your thoughts please.

Here is an old post I had posted years ago on my opinion of them.

Also with an underground fence, stray dogs can wander through not to mention wild animals that dogs may want to chase.

Not worth it. My family had one and it did not work for us. It only shocks the dog when he crosses the boundary so once he crosses, he's a free dog. Our dog learn that and left the yard if you werent watching. However, he would not enter the yard because if he cross that boundary he would get shocked. Maybe he was just a exception but I would never again get one.

My mom grew up next to a house with an underground fence for their lab. She said it was the funniest thing--that lab would back up and take that fence full sprint, squalling when he passed over it. He did it every time though... the shock was worth the freedom.

Wireless fencing might not be the safest, but it is sure safer than a chain.
