I haven't been on here in quite some time, hubby and I have recently had a baby and been busy with life...

But just wanted to post about Diesel, he was out of Handyman. We had him for 3 great years and unfortunately he passed away last week. He went in to be neutered (mainly due to having the baby home) and he ended up being a hemophiliac. He didn't do well throughout the night and ended up passing shortly after we brought him home.

It was a horrible experience, mainly because it was unexpected. We miss him dearly and just wish he was still with us.

I think next weekend we will be taking his ashes to his favorite hunting spot and make that his final resting place.

Buddy of mine had the same thing happen to him but the dog lived .
Vet told him it might be genetic and for me to be watchful.
Don't think I'll have one nuetered. But will watch for cuts and stuff .
Just thought I'd share this. Sorry about your loss.
My buddy was having a baby soon and they were devastated.

Yea it is genetic, the females are just carriers so the males are the ones with the problems. Our next one will defnitely be a female.

That is truly sad... awful to lose on no matter what but that must have effected the vet staff pretty badly too... TO have to deal with it at such a BUSY time of life as well... makes it that much worse.

Yea it was really hard-I actually work at the vets office so its still hard to go in there everyday and think of him.

Bryan could you let us know whenever there are some pups? We really enjoyed having a Handy pup.
