good hunt then the phone rings...

went out tonite perfect temps in the 50's but 35mph winds had to deal with. played the wind so could hear dogs best i could and they hunted just rite direction i wanted(thats a miracle). only made 3 drops and all good tracks could hear at least some of, and all seemed smoking hot but decently long tracks the 3 old dogs smoked. after dogs started the 3rd track i was driving around to hear better and buddy called that broke down with piece of equipment and needed help. after collecting dogs from catch in ground hole with coon the hunt was over.

tooks some nice pics and a vid from the first 2 trees. was proud of the dogs tonite wind was ripping and dust was horrible.

first run dogs all struck together and minn and trix treed coon. toby got goofed up as coon crossed back and forth on creek and went up leaner from creek into tree. toby kept winding scent in creek and would not settle treed?

Nice!

Great pix. The way your dawgs keep moving you need a better, faster camera! Loved the video. I turned it on and Bob laughed.. said it looked like I HAD jumped halfway up the tree.
Loved the Bawl mouth dawg... figures it would be the blue one! LOL... Bob and I both just love the bawl mouths...

yep thats my bluetick toby. LOL. when he wants to get after coonin hes awesome. top notch track and tree dog. sometimes gets in groove where doesnt wanna cast for some reason but when he does hes hunting machine. he almost always does good when hunted with the black girls, maybe he thinks that poses a challenge. LOL.

hunting bear hes an animal. loves tracking off a bait but coon hunting i never do that hence the sometimes casting problem. couple years ago was hammering him solo and gonna get him htx tested then he went into fit wouldnt cast alone or with other dogs for awhile. said the hell with getting him papered and htx tested and since has casted well most the time. goofy dog anyway. LOL.

some of my favorite hunts over the years with these dogs was couple different summers when the old high tan bitch minn had pups on ground and was hot as hell. did a ton of morning hunts and sometimes went before daylite sometimes right at daylight. hunting trix and toby ran hot track, cold tracks and everything in between and was times i would tree or ground catch coon up till mid morning and even noon. i wouldnt have quit other than hot and dogs plum wore out. hunted as close to crop ground as possible but thick woods also. i know the hot and humid weather was contributing the coon moving at such strange hours and tracks werent horrible old but dogs would grind them out and do nice job!!!

i cant wait for weather to get nice and hopely this crap hole greens up and maybe raise some crops this year. i plan on ton of daylight hunts and hope to take mama and my boy along!!! this drought and crappy winter has sucked!

happy running, matt.
