What was it?

Had a young female out under the full moon last night, she got struck in a little patch of woods (about 2 acres) running hot and i mean hot, she would locate and tree for half a minute and move, locate and tree and then move. She barked up probably six trees in 5 minutes, We were standing in a corn stubble field and watched what ever it was run up a leaning tree and timber out like a squirrel, looked black about the size of a big mink or maybe a little bigger. Some kinda weassel? As bright as it was she was probably lookin at it the whole race. What ever it was she probably wont run another one.

There is a noticible size difference between a mink and a weasel.. If what you seen was the size of a large mink or a little bigger, I cant see that being a weasel. If it was that big i would think big mink, martin or fisher. Not sure if there are any your way but that would be my guess based on your size description.

Big mink or maybe a fisher...gray fox..bobcat..all weasles are all smaller than mink I believe..I believe all the weasles are smaller than your regular ole gray or fox squirrel....fisher are bigger than mink...maybe a squirrel out at night...

That Pic. of the fisher looks pretty close, never saw one around here before. Whatever it was it went up a leanin tree and out the top like it was shot out of a cannon. Definately wasnt a squirrel, cat or a fox, the whole deal only covered a couple hundred yards. Are fisher real fast?

My buddies pup did the same thing the other night . It finally climbed and we got in there and got close to it . It was a weasel or mink ... Had a white belly and black beady little eyes .
