I'm also looking at buying some bark collars I can't tell if the collar you are looking at requires sound and vibration like the sportsdog collars do which is a must for me since my pens are connected

The dogtra collar is activated by vibration only.

If your pens are conected do NOT use the ones that are sound and vibration activated. I made that mistake and learned a hard lesson. Now all I use is thetritronics vibration only bark collars.

How is vibration only better then a collar that needs sound and vibration to be activated?

bark collars

I own two dogtra bark collars and three tritronics. The dogtra collars are sound and vibration activated. They both will shock when a dog in the kennel next to them bark. Now mind you they have really loud mouths. The trtronics are vibration only and they wont shock when the dog in the next pen barks.
The dual activated collars do not work like it is clamed they are supposed too. I wasted $ 200.00 finding this out. In a kennel the vibration only collars are the only way to go. Just my experance. And $500.00 spent.

The only bark collars I've used are the Sportdog for $49.99.My dogs are in connected kennels. They work great. The only issues I've had is dogs chewing on each others collars if kenneled together.

i have had tritronics, sportdogs and rechargable dogtras. i will never buy another bark collar that is not a rechargable one.
dogtras do not false shock or shock because another dog is barking and they dont shock the dog because the battery is low.
only thing i dont like about dogtras is the prongs are too long in my opinion..
the tritronics and sport dogs were a waste of my money. they did'nt last 3 months, false shock, a small fortune in changing batteries and they would shock if the collar was bumped or the battery was low. they would just shock them with the dog laying there sleeping.
