I have hunted with several dogs listed in the 2 dogs you are considering on breeding pedigrees'. On paper the possibilities look good. The Warrior Creek CW dog is listed 5 times in the pedigrees you posted. The CW dog was Blue Bio Blue Jet until I sold him to Heyward Douglas (under current UKC policys his name could not have changed) Some of the greatest success and some outstanding hounds have come about by crosses on him to a female out of Coz Sparetime Spanky. Remember Jet 7 and Iron Will are littermates. If the 2 dogs you are planning on crossing hunt more like the Smokey River Cheif dogs then go that direction with your breeding. If you are not sure of the style or lines then make it your business to familarize yourself with them. If you are not willing to do that, then don't breed them and just go buy a pup from someone who knows their own dogs and does do their homework. Best of luck, they are your dogs and you can do as you wish.
CW,
I owned the Bess female out of Blue Bio Blue Jet. (Heyde's Jet Blue Bess) As Jet Seven and Iron Will were Littermates so were the Boots female and the Faith female, and Heyde Bess and Yarbroughs Bess listed in the pedigree. I am the one that welped the litter out of Jet Seven and my Bess II female. I sold my Bess II female to a close by friend and he changed her name to Hector's Bess. This was before the new rule changes on names being changable.
I knew a lot about CW(Jet) from Ed and Rick. I booked my old Bess female(out of Ed's Bess II) about 2 or 3 weeks after the mating happened. If you look back through the 95 - 2000 or so blue books you will see a pic of Bess in the 95 yearbook(or real close to 95), and a lot of the off spring out of Bess and Indigo (my double chief bred female that was 3rd on the reproducers list for several years).
I don't own either of the "potential" parents in the "potential" cross listed above. If this cross ever happens it is gonna take a lot of work to get it done. I have never hunted with the potential father or mother but am relying on info from many of the guys on this board who have also bred this line and hunted with the parents themselves. Trying to do as much homework as possible before I waste any gas or money to inspect possible dogs myself.
The Shockey portion is what I know the least about. I hunted with Seven a lot at Ed's. The first time I hunted with him I felt like I could have done a decent job handling him because my old Bess and Seven were about as identical on mouth, track, and tree as any two Jet dogs I had ever hunted with. The smokey river chief in this pedigree is my doing so I know the entire crosses pretty well.
Thanks, Kevin Heyde
PS The old Bess blood is what I am most interested in in these papers.
