WARNING! Dog theft attempt last night in Oklahoma

Posted this on the main board, but thought I would put it on the breed board too being that Yogi is an English dog.

Last night, my oldest son was hunting my Yogi dog when a couple of thieves driving a pickup truck attempted to steal him. Yogi doubled back towards the road according to the Garmin he was wearing, so my son started walking back towards the road. He saw a truck drive by slowly and stop at Yogi's location. He could see two guys get out of the truck, then quickly get in the truck and drive away. Immediately, the Garmin starts reporting Yogi traveling away from him at a high rate of speed. My son rushes to his truck to pursue the two thieves. Two miles down the road, he notices their brake lights come on. When he gets to where he saw the brake lights, he notices that Yogi is now a few hundred yards away according to the Garmin. He stops his truck and is able to call Yogi to him. Apparently, when the thieves saw my son coming, they dumped Yogi out of their truck and took off. He didn't get a good look at the truck or the two thieves as he was more interested in getting Yogi back in his possession.

My son was hunting an area three miles south of Highway 16 and two miles east of Highway 52 in an area northeast of the town of Morris in Northeast Oklahoma. If it wasn't for the Garmin, Yogi would be gone today! I post this so that all Oklahoma hunters are aware of potential thieves lurking the roads around the Okmulgee/Muskogee area.

Angry

In this cast they were probably after the hound and collar. Here in Indiana I have heard of 5 dogs treeing along the road. Then they are going down the road. One guy was in chase when the collar shut off. He stopped got out and started tracking with his old tracker. He used a back up. This tracker showed the dog down the road where it was treed. When he arrived at the side road he found his Johnson collar on the edge of the road. But has not found the garman. I guess that is an easy $ 75.00 or $ 125.00 each. The dog was still on the tree. They just wanted the DC-40.

Facebook

I have a Facebook page and my son does too. Matter of fact, he posted a video of our Yogi dog from a hunt we had the other night. Here is the link:

Tell me about these Facebook groups for Oklahoma. I would like to post an alert letting people know about what happened.
