Yes it takes a pretty nice dog to put together a string of 20 consecutive trees, (or more) in a row with a coon in them. I'm kinda sinical at times but I do like to keep track and see just how skilled they can get at treeing a coon without making a mistake.
The best I have ever put together here at home is 26 staight tracks that ended on a tree with a coon in it. I have only had two dogs in my life get above 20 straight tracks/20 straight trees, with a coon in them. This was done (both times) in the month of April. This was accomplished by my 1st real coondog Tree Banging Buddy (Bates Screaming DemonXMayles Beech Rive Dolly) who treed 24 straight. and then his son, my Nt.Ch. Raw Dawg Rowdy, (Tree anging BuddyXHooper Ridge Queen) who treed 26 staight tracks to a tree.
Holly is Really accurate, but she has never put over 20 straight tracks to a tree with a coon on the outside. I think Holly's best streak was 15 straight tracks to a tree with a coon. Maybe its just luck to put that many tracks to a tree with a coon, then again maybe its Luck with skill that allows a dog to accomplish that.
I don't have the answer, but aroud these parts, 20 straight or better is a pretty darn big feat!!
