Gr.Nt.'pr' Millikens Misty Blue Ray. It did not matter to ray who turned him loose, where you turned him loose or what the weather was like, he went and treed a coon. the five minute coons inthe north or the one hour cut-over coons in the south, ray could and did it anyway that was necessary.

Back in 1972 or '73, I drew Dave Dean with Hammer III.

Wow, he was awsome. He was all coondog, both ends of the track and filled the middle with speed. Nothing else in the cast was even close.

That's why my Dad and I bought a pup out of him.

Meadowoods Ace...Seen him go one night when pickin up a dog the owner had for a month...he was a coondog for sure and he didn't need a lead on him just left the tree and said come on Ace and he'd stop treein and just walk out of the woods with us. Pretty cool.

Best

I believe I have hunted with many top cooners in the past, Levi, Bingo, Jet VI, Hammer XVIII, Droop and several others, but these were on just a one or two night basis. It's hard to make a good judgment on a hound with limited hunting. The best, night in, night out bluetick hound I ever stepped in the woods with, I owned. Nt Ch Moore's Simpson Creek Blue, out of Gr Nt Ch Morris' Blue River Boomer and Nt Ch Hanlon's Bell. Blue was the best I've ever owned and that was almost 40 years ago. They don't make his kind any more.

Too Many

I too have unsnapped some really good dogs. Bullet11 when he wasn't sick with the tick stuff was pretty nice. Smokey River Lil, if she stayed in hearing was one tuff momma, one of my all time favorites was a dog I owned in the early 80's called him Echo. He was nice. But another alltime favorite was a female named Jewel. That little one year old was a handfull in any company. Her life ended way too soon in a freak accident, loved that little dog and I really believe she would have contended for the world if not for another freak deal. I've led a lot of them
