WINTER STORM WARNING 11AM - 10PM THURSDAY FOR THE MOUNTAINS ...

... WINTER STORM WATCH 11AM - 10PM FOR THE VALLEY ...

Today: Showers are likely this morning, but then the rain will transition over to a heavy wet snow by this afternoon with some accumulations likely. Be prepared for possible hazardous wintry weather this afternoon and evening across East Tennessee!!

*Here's the setup: An area of low pressure will be pushing into the Carolina's from the Gulf of Mexico. Abundant moisture and lift is associated with this system, not to mention a great track for winter weather for East Tennessee into North Carolina as long as colder air gets pulled into the back side. According to the recent models, there is about a 3-6 hour window for snow to develop, from Noon to 6pm. If this were to happen, it will be quick bursts of wet, heavy snow. There will also be a very rapid transition from light accumulations to deeper snow from west to east. Below freezing temperatures are expected early Friday morning, so icing could be of concern for the morning rush.

no snow on the ground right now,9 miles north of batesville.high today about 40 and low tonight 25.there is STILL a lot of ice on the trees.the snow was south of batesville.besides all you guys from the north are used to the snow and the guys from the south don`t know what it is!!!!!

We didn't get any snow. Just rain and the hunting sucked. Coons not down. Took us 45 min to get to and score first tree. Big den on top of mt everest lol. 15 min left and not another bark till hunt was up. Course one had a Coon treed then.

It's that time of the year for that part of MS to get some bad weather another cold front comes thru next week , who knows maby you people from up north will get to hunt and drive in this ice down here , me myself if it gets bad will just go to Tunica and spend some of my comp time at the casinos .Be Prpared for cold weather and lots of water !!!
