s jr and rat

Do you think sjr hurt the walker breed or helped? Same a rat? I've herd line breed close with rat blood will bring that slick treeing fault out and its was from two diehard Jr and rat guys that know how to linebreed dogs to get the best out of the blood but they said when they did a rat line and bred it like other dogs every pup was in the 65% range after being finished in training so they quit breeding it that way and started crossen it on yadkin and skuna gyp
And the slick treeing fault went away now I'm sure this is gonna get some people mad but hey the truth hurts I got a nailor dog most would say nailor was the biggest over rated dog out there doesn't make me mad I like the grandpup I got out of him.

Rat produced more winning coondogs than any stud in the history of the breed, and i doubt his percentages will ever be beat. Without Jr. there would be no rat. No i dont think they hurt the breed.

I think a lot of that slick treeing can be stopped with a good switch and consistency. I've hunted a bunch of jr/rat dogs. They are easy starting pups. Usually you just have to get them in the woods. They will figure the rest out. But soon as mine start treeing well the start learning right from wrong. Start of with some scolding and go up from there. It's easy to slow one down on its treeing them it is to get them to tree.

I think those dogs just brought out what people had been breeding for. People had been wanting dogs that treed more ran less. I wouldnt say it wasnt really those dogs in particular so much. I was gripping the other night about how when I was a kid we would build a fire roast hot dogs have a good time. While I still have a good time. My little girl (6) has started hunting with me. I thought alright we will build fires it will be just like when I was a kid. Everytime I build a fire dogs are treed. I've realized that everything that dogs due now is fast paced. Since I don't get to chase hunts like I used to I'm not real sure how I feel about that. I have one dog out of Elvis Attack he is the only one with jr/rat. I have a variety of other bloodlines. Doesnt seem to matter still same story struck treed and I'm walking.

I remember the same thing on the cold night's we would build a fire shoot the bull and wait on the dogs to tree funny thing is seems like they were in a way better dogs more track minded then tree could work an old old track that mostdogs nowdays wouldn't fool with wasn't to long ago I was talking to a guy I coon hunt with every now and then he is older then me but didn't start coon hunting until around 2001 or 2002 while I was being taught how to handle dogs in 96 when I was a kid still makes him made when I rag him haha but he said he wants a dog that's got tree power while I want track power over tree there are some guys that like to go just to trees out here but not me but they love them tree dogs that can tree coons and I told him the exact same thing how we started fires etc then waited on the dogs to tree he had a look on his face like why the hell you would do that dogs have changed a lot since I was little but in one way its good but in another bad It's not about the joy of it enymore It's the money most of these stud adds make the stud sound like he could walk on water like jesus I like mr Timothy balls harry dog add he was honest no bs glad I got to own a son of harry and gold but the real good ones you own die fast.

Aint no sense in having a dog that barks up a tree if there aint nothing in it. I have the unfortunate experience of having one of them slick treeing idiots it seems people are breeding nowadays. Dog would be dead if it wasnt my first. I agree with you slobbermouth. I like me a good tracking dog. I have hunted with some pups out of that harry dog. Good pups for the most part. A few bad ones but no stud throws 100 percent perfect litters

I've worked with some slick treeing dogs do exactly what o shelby said the ones I was asked to work were about 40 percent accurate maybe 60 percent one got to be about 75 percent the rest were no hope just emproved little its genetic mostly but doesn't hurt to try I should have a litter of some track driving machines in a few months testing this male out if he can't throw good pups with this proven lipper female I hunt also he want be put in hunts or studded ill just keep him as a pleasure dog.

I been kicking the stud business around. I have a super hound fixing to turn 3 in April. He has little over $10k won in PKC. And has been in 4 UKC hunts last one was last Friday made him a Nite Ch. he has two truck tickets one for March and just got one in December for March 2014. Just bred him to a female directly off Wipeout Zack (Moose). Those pups should be here in week or so. He is not alot of excitement most of the time but when he trees he has him. Usually all by hisself somewhere

!!

SACKETT JR AND RAT WERE GREAT REPRODUCERS!!

WHAT HURTS THE BREED IS EVERYBODY BREEDING JUNK TO TOP STUDS,EXPECTING TO GET TOP COONDOGS!!

THE BLOOD{TRAITS} GETS WATERED DOWN QUICK WHEN THAT HAPPENS IN EVERY GEN.!!!

Justin I hear Burdine staying home now days. And I dnt like hunting with Keene. He beats me and doesn't brag about it. Something doesn't feel right bout a guy that doesn't lie or brag about his dogs
