HELLO BRACK, I really don't know where the pink nose and yellow eyes comes from as it was around before i was a pup, LOL. But I will say my dad had a pink nosed English hound when I was a teenager back in the early 70"s and she was the coldest nosed coonhound I ever walked behind. Now thats not saying she was the fastest track dog I ever hunted with but I did see her run a track and tree on a den tree one night in about 4 inches of snow. Crazy thing was, I could not find any coon tracks coming to this tree but when I climbed up and looked down in the den there were two live coons in the bottom of this tree. This dog was off of Beech River Jabo and Massengills Red Fannie. My ole Rocket dog had a grey colored nose and he was line bred back to this same female.
I was always told by my Dad that the pink nose went back to some strains of old english fox & coonhounds but I have know way of knowing for sure.
Hey Brack I have an idea, Lets breed one of your Plott females to my Gun dog, who is off Rocket and see if we can get a pink nose on a Plott Hound LOL!!! (I aint never seen one like that) Just Kidding Buddy, Take Care and Happy New Year!! Me an Jeff are heading to the Winter Classic, It sure would be nice to see you there!!
