great dogs

i know this is gonna hurt some peoples feelings but its just a dicussion nothing other then that i got some of them in my dogs ped. but if you look at all the GREAT stud dogs most where from thick coon states now let me say this i will never ever ever buy a dog from thick coons and hunt him down here most ive seen that where talked big about in okl. indiana. etc that were brought donw here didnt look so good and thats just why but all im sayen is what if these dogs just looked so good because they where hunted in thick coon states and if they were brought down here where us thin coon guys have had nights where we didnt tree eny coons and a GOOD night we are lucky to get five or six now im not bashing dogs just wanted to get a discussion going on the subject. now im sure most of you will be if he is a coon dog he will tree enywhere and i sure thats a fact to some degree but then agien think about it those dogs aint tested like a thin coon dog is doesnt have to really have traits a thin coon dog has to have because he will tree five coons befor he leaves 100 acreas while thin dog may have to leave 600 acreas to find one coon.

Same ole same ole

Then why do northern dogs win big hunts down there?

Actually, a buddy purchased a winning southern dog, and she was a horrible slick treeing idiot. What was the worst she never slicked close it was always 1/2 mile or more away.

Fact of the matter is a top dog is a top dog no matter where ya cut them.

Same ole south is better argument. I wonder how many who spout that argument have actually hunted up north, and with honest to goodness top dogs?

That old argument has been shot down so many different ways it is a wonder people still throw it out there. It says alot more about what they don't know than what they do.

I remember , a while back , there was a gal on here from a "thin coon" area , saying that they never knew there were so many coon around their parts till they got ahold of "this one dog".
Bad part was , she was braggin' up their current dog as a stud dog ! LOL

So , everytime I hear "thin coon" , I just gotta wonder if somebody needs to get one of "them" dogs ! LOL
