Personally, I think they are migrating BACK to where they came from. Pretty sure that during this summer's drought the coon migrated to areas that held water....causing an over population of coon in some areas and a void of coon in others.
The kittens were all born "early" this spring due to an unusually mild winter last year, so you are seeing litters that are still together, but are larger than what you would expect cause they are older.
Trust me, the rut IS coming...but it's not here yet.
Joe has hit this one out of the park boys,,,,Squirrels migrate and so do coon,,They go to the easiest food source .
