Garmin DC40 Question

I hunt very hilly terrain with deep hollows and was wondering if anyone is using the extended range antennas on their colars? If you are what type of gains have yous seen if any?

I just put a new stainless steel one on a DC30. Then I took a DC30 with the stock antenna and the one with the new one on it and hung them side by side on the porch railing. Got communication with both on my 320 and drove off. I went .98 miles and lost comm. with the stock and lost comm. with the new one at 1.21 miles. Not a huge differance but a bear bit the one that I replaced into so I thought I would try the stainless. It should be way more durable than the stock one. I would guess it would be about the same for a DC40.

Daniel, Scott does and loves them. Usually I can pick up one of his collars a few seconds before mine and sometimes I can pick them up places I cannot mine or others. They are worth the investment.
