Birdseye Disappointment

Garmin Alpha & Birdseye
Well,
I knew that the downloading would still be a time-dragging nitemare.
I put 6 maps 532mb ea on the Alpha, & it took about 3 1/2 hrs at highest resolution.
Still seeing same low-quality ariel photo
Well, when I looked at the map, I was surprised to see my neighbors old house.
The kicker is, that house has not been there for nearly 20 years.

I would think that Garmin would not use old sattlelite projections, but not so.

I spent alot of time adding to my 320 last night. Not to bad if I use standard but high or highest seems to take more time than a retiree has got left to cover a small area. I haven't even thought about anything outside my home state .
Is there any huge difference in the 3 settings ?

Birdseye

Dale,
I put Birdseye on a micro-sd card.
There is a somewhat noticeable difference beteen standard & highest.
There is not as much between high & highest, you can see the difference in daytime better than nightime with your screen on.
I did get a detailed technical answer from Garmin that the Astro, & now the Alpha screen is not capabale of more clarity, us hunters got a big loss there.
If you know a Game Warden or someone that has put Birdseye on their Garmin, (Dakota, etc.) look at their Birdseye map, It is nice, just like looking at Google Earth or something similiar on a computer screen.
You'd think the new Alpha would be compatible, but I guess that did not come up as important when on the drawing board
I really like the Birdseye, but as far as hunters, it's not user-friendly.
David
