Big Game Plotts

I was just wondering what you guys on here thought was the best line of big game plotts in your opinions. I have heard good things about bear pen breeding in WI and some about jonet, camphouse, and shamrock. What do you guys like and what were your experiences?

ive hunted

with the Jonet Plotts and my brother runs them. Not only are they good but their ancestors were top dogs also. ive hunted and owned dogs out of their ancestors and they were very very good bearhounds that treed tons of bears. the ones i owned were very early starting dogs. Alot of these bred dogs tree their own bear alot of the time. Not just once in awhile but alot. But there are many good lines out there also. go hunt with them if you get a chance. I know the Jonets tree alot of cat also and get their mountain lions when they go after them. if i didnt hunt Redbones, I would hunt Plotts.

my brother had

a litter this year and they were sold before he even got her bred.lol thats saying something. Darrel took one for stud also. There wasnt enuff to go around but sometimes there just not enuff pups. There are alot of good Plotts that tree alot of game though. My friend hunted the Brandenburger lines long ago and they were taller dogs but very good. Also seen good Plotts from the Walkers. I always believe you have to give those young dog every chance they deserve otherwise they dont amount to alot. They need time in the woods while very young also, whether its just letting them explore or taking them to a treed bear or coon. I hope you find what you are looking for. As with any breed Ive seen not so good ones but couldnt name the line if i tried, Didnt really care since they were not my dogs. Take care

I have the best luck with blackwater and whitehollow dogs, I have also had some really good weems, walkers west virginia and pocahontas dogs. I have seen some good dollins dogs but I have never had personally good luck with them.

Weems breed are suppose to make great big game hounds, Closer to home Star Mountian breeding is good also, I have seen a few of these dogs in action. Be closer to your location and the guy always has pups on the ground.

My line of kamphouse came from don kamphouse last dog he had and my buddy bought from him went to idaho to pick it up for 3500. This is the pups grandsire. I will be in wva next week if that would help out. $250 ea or $400 both. One male and one female.
