Beaufort County Commissioners will conduct a public meeting to discuss a proposed ban on all roadside hunting on Monday evening, September 10, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the Beaufort County Superior Courtroom in Washington, NC.

Beaufort Co. Commissioners need to hear from you. They have heard, repeatedly, from a few citizens complaining about roadside hunting. The Commissioners need to hear from all sides of this issue. Beaufort Co. citizens who hunt responsibly and do not want to be penalized because of a few “bad apples” should make their voices heard. Dog hunters should explain the necessity of retrieving dogs, often on the highway right of way.

If you are a Beaufort Co. hunter, please alert your fellow hunters. They need to be aware of this important issue. It is important the Commissioners hear from hunters who are citizens and voters in Beaufort County. Commissioners will hear ONLY from Beaufort County residents.

There is limited seating in the Beaufort Co. Superior Courtroom. Come EARLY. The Courtroom will be opened a little before 7:00 pm. Some people plan to come very early, but we have been informed the Courtroom will not be unlocked until shortly before the meeting.

We should support them. Roadside hunting could turn out to be coon hunting off a county dirt trail road if the wrong dumb and young deputy drives by.
