I've been to one. RQE at that. 2 fellers sitting on the couch inside the club house drinking a cold one. I thought it was pretty dang funny. Started to ask em for one myself As far as caught. Don't recken nothing was said. I didn't care. Was not up to me and was not my club.

As long as you are not drinking on the cast or b4 the cast then why would it matter. Coonhunting is for fun because we enjoy it if someone needs to drink to enjoy it then in my opinion TO EACH HIS OWN. jmo

Well I guess I can see the point behind that rule but I think a little common sense could go a long way with it. At my club a couple guys scratched a cast member because he bought a six pack of light when they stopped at a gas station on the way to the woods. He wasn't planning on drinking it during the course of the hunt he kust put it in the cooler in the back of his truck for when he got home that night. The rules are pretty clear and they where definately within the rules to scratch him but I still think it is B.S. I got another scenario for .... When Itravel to some of the bigger hunts that are away from home often times I will camp out on the grounds. Seems just plain un-American to me to not be able to drink a beer or two after a hot night of hunting once I get back from the woods and i am settling in for the night around my campfire. The rulea say on the grounds but come on who hell cares if I drink a beer in my tent or around my campfire after the hunt is over?

Some guys with a nice redbone were in the neighboring state at a night hunt. Won their nitech cast with a good score. Came back, turned the card in. knew they had a long wait. clubhouse did not have much for food or beverages so they went up the road to a local watering hole for a burger. WInner of the other nitech cast heard about it. demanded that their card get thrown out. I talked to them afterwords, did not smell like booze to me. They claimed to not have had anything to drink. Seemed like a little local favoritism.

Wasn't there a big controversy a while back over a big PKC hunt where a bunch of guys were drinking in the clubhouse??

Seems I remember going to the PKC board after that and seeing a big write up on the front page about the PKC drug and alcohol policy and how it should be enforced.

I've seen it happen at a lot of hunts........seen it at breed days hunts, world hunts, rqe hunts, and small local hunts........seen it in all registries..........I've seen drinking before the hunt and after the clock ran out.........never did see any of it during the hunt.

I completely understand the purpose for the rule because some people just don't need any help being dumb without alcohol, but like someone else already said, a little common sense goes a long way.

I'm the president of a deer hunting club where we guide a lot of casts. My land consists of 3 different leases. It is stated in all 3 leases that alcohol is not allowed on the property. If I'm guiding and I see you with alcohol, you will be asked to leave or we are going back to the MOH. I can't afford to lose where I've been hunting all of my life because someone can't go a few hours without a drink. JMO

Yea that's the truth and beat it all he had a small child hunting with him that night.

But there is one thing to tell that someone is drunk is too set back and listen to them talk.

The first thing that comes out of their mouths is my dog is better than anyone hear. and then they try to sell it for 50.00 bucks so it couldn't be much of a coon hound for that price.

Money

Might as well drop this boom !
I think the atmosphere around the big money hunts draws alot of this, they are less Family Oriented in my opinion !

I go run for cover now

3rd times a charm

You can read what I say, But I can't say what I read!!HA They, all of the field judges, had a long meeting. They really did not like this one and told that idiot the same. They had to go with what the judges "saw". But, they told him he was a sorry SOB for doing what he did. So, it by the time I got back and was told everything, I thought my best bet was to get out of there and fast! It still burns in my gut and makes me say stuff I wish I hadn't said. It always comes back home. If I was breaking in a new kid today I would tell them, You do your job, like you have been practicing, and everything will turn out OK. Sometimes HA
