hunting pup when its this hot

my pup can tree his own coon but he has looked bad the last few times out. hes 12 mos old. he will get a track going and then loose it and wonder around for a while then he might pick it up again and he might not and come back in, or sometimes he will just move on. is it during more harm than good to hunt a young dog this time of year? should i wait for some rain or what? creeks round here are bout dry so thats not really an option either. help me out guys

hunt him he' got to learn how to do it whether it is wet or dry and hot or cold. You may only need to hunt him a couple nights a week until you get some moisture on the ground.might try hunting early in the morning.the morning dew can help keep scent from leaving so fast.

If he is struggling real bad might want to wait on the rain. The ground here n Indiana is like powder I'm hunting a ten month old and I have been hunting the hills also waiting til late when a little dew is on seems to help some he fought one on ground last night not a kitten and I was really impressed n this dry weather. If u have those options. Good luck to u and ur hound.

You shouldnt exspect a 12 month old to look like a champ every night.Im sure you know that but thought id remind you.Weve been getin strong storms bout every other evening here.It drops the temps bout 20 degrees quick. That helps alot.By the way whats your pup out of?The one in pic looks sharp.
