Richard Casey Blueticks

I have saw a lot of talk about Blues on hear but have never heard anyone speak about him and Indian Charlie. Does anyone know anything about his dogs? What are they like?

Have drawn two

of them in the past and the things thats have stuck out in mind were thay were awefully short legged and thay had mouths that while not terrabley loud thay carried very well and seemed easy to call.

Haven't been around any from this line since Tim Manning
had Jackhammer. My experience with them at that time was
they had loud mouths, were good treedogs, any were VERY
good track dogs. Hunted with several Jackhammer dogs and
they were all this way. Bred my Dual Grand female to him
and every pup made a coondog!

I'll have to back Tony on what he said about the Indian. He is one of the nicest people you will ever hunt with and is Honest, good or bad. I know if charly is at a hunt I want to hunt with him. You can bet if he is there he is hnting and has a dog worth bringing. Most of the dogs I have hunted with were tight on the ground and very accurate hard tree dogs that were independent. Have hunted with Taco several times and he will either score 800+ or he may not open his head. Just depends on how he is doing that night.

I have hunted with a lot of them, trained a few, hunted a few in the hunts for Richard. If I had one complaint if any about Richards hounds. It would be I would like them more houndsy. They seem to have shorter ears and not enough muzzle and some times the light vanilla tan does not suite me. Now this is only looks I am talking about. Hunting wise I cannot complain much at all. I have hunted Taco in the hunts a few times and been in the woods with him many more. Taco is a very nice hound, maybe just not quite the comp style hound Richard really likes. Taco has been hard to finish for Richard. But there is no mistake the hound and many others are very nice coon hounds. Most pups start real early and stay on course to make nice hounds. I have all the respect for Richard and his strain on hounds. I would not be bashfull of owning any hounds form him place. They seem to strike well, have heads full of sense, nice bawl mouths, chop/bawl on tree, good lay-up artist and everynight hounds.
