I typically don't post to whine or complain but this thread is interesting because of a situation that's happening here....and it's one of the reasons I prefer not to sell to pet homes. (I could tell you a few stories about pet home sales but that's not the point of this message).
A pet home bought a pup from one of our litters recently. The day after the family picked up the pup, they took it to their vet for a health check - for their own assurance they were getting a sound, healthy pup. They called me that day to say the pup got a clean bill of health and everything was wonderful.
After a couple months, the honeymoon is apparently over..I receive a frantic email (typed in caps and I really don't like to be yelled at). It said CALL ME ASAP TERRIBLE PROBLEM WITH THE PUPPY. So, I call and find out the pup was back to the vet and put on antiboitics for a bladder infection. I ask a few questions and find out that they took the pup back to the vet because it was peeing 4 times an hour and they believe that is way too much for a young puppy to go to the bathroom.
So a couple weeks pass I hear nothing further until another email comes saying, "puppy is back at the vet - my wife is there now. Call her cell. Things aren't looking good".
Instead of calling the wife at the vet, I call the husband at home to get more info (not wanting to distract the wife while she's with the vet). Husband says, pup is still peeing 4 times an hr. We rushed him to the vet.
I check in with them later than night - vet checks out pup and puts it on another type of antibiotic. (that's 2 office visit charges and 2 meds charges). At that point, I am concerned so ask if bloodwork or any xrays are done. They say no the vet doesn't feel it's that critical - yet. I suggested that if the vet feels that a second type of med is needed on such a young pup, that at a mininum, bloodwork would be in order in my opinion. They disagree.
So, yesterday I get another email....."Pup is slowly getting better but it's going to be a long recovery. Poor Him - no Poor US we are out of paper towels again".
I reply to the email saying if the pup does not meet their expectation and is causing stress on the family, I will take it back - no questions asked. The reply I received was the last one I will take from this person and it was totally uncalled for. He states, "The pup is staying here but I'll let you know if it comes down with leprosy".
Rude, Rude, Rude and totally uncalled for is all I can say.
