Hi Doug,
Sorry I missed your post. I haven't been on here much lately.
There isn't a lot to report lately. It's been so hot, I haven't been working my pups. My excuse is, it's too hot for the pups but it might be that it's too hot for an old fat guy. Bob Abston out in Idaho got one of the pups and ran him on his first coon in the day time this week. He said the pup opened all the way and treed every breath on the tree. He called to say he loves the pup and that he has a big grown up mouth. BTW, the pups turned 5 months old on the 12th. A man from northern Missouri bought a pup and called a while back to say he ran his pup on some drags and one live coon when the pup was just 4 months old. He had a little bad luck as the coon hid out in some tall grass and the pup caught him on the ground. He said his pup was intense and didn't quit or back up. He likes him. Another guy from southern Kansas bought 2 pups and calls a couple times a month or so. He has been running several drags out in the woods at night and both pups track, locate, and tree every breath. He is excited and says he has never seen pups that act like these. A guy from down around Collinsville, OK has a pup that he has run on some drags and took him hunting at night before he was 4 months old. The pup went all the way. A guy from up at Olathe, KS has a pup he says is intense and he likes him. He is like me and waiting for a little cooler weather, but has turned his pup loose a few times in the woods during the day, and says the pup really trees on squirrels.
I still have one pup here that I will probably have to re-sell. He is the wide bodied pup in the video from the middle pen. He is a really nice pup with a lot of intensity and is a tree dog.
I really love this litter so far. All 9 pups are intense. They all do their own tracking, locate, and are tree dogs. When all the pups were still here, the little guys always tried to run for the lead on tracks. They had several lead changes every time one would make a lose. I just never knew which one would bring the track home.
