I like both. Always wear the boot out before the chap anyway.

I gave up on Muck for that very reason. As much as I like them buying two pair a year was not going to happen anymore. I am now trying mud lite so far so good.

.

Here is a link to the Grubs Boots and it has a description of the different chaps that DANS offers.

http://www.conkeysoutdoors.com/cgi/...tem_num=728-000

When you ask the difference in the DANS chaps and the Yoder super chaps the first question is WHICH DANS chap.
They have five different chaps and six if you count the "roughneck" in the snake proof version which is just a couple more layers of material. My favorite is the 5 Star chap which is same Fabric as the original WICK chaps.

Muck boots have changed over the years due to the company changing hands. The GRUBS boot is like the original MUCK boot before the material in the boot was changed which allowed the heal to wear out. i am ordering myself a pair and will know soon if they are as good as advertised!!

The Mud Lite is also an excellent choice of boots especially if you have big legs as they have the webbing on top that expands and you can ask to get the chap sewn lower so the boot can expand. I personally have the mud lite with 5 star chap and like them!!

I swore off LaCrosse fovever after my Alpha Lites lasted less than a year. But I guess nothing is forever because I bought the MudLites with the VC lightweight chap and this is the best combo I have had yet. But I have only worn them a couple months so they still have plenty of time to let me down.

We as week in and week out coon hunter most likely put more miles on our boots than the boot maker ever thought of.

I compared the yoder super chaps to the Dan's 5 star chaps. Yoder has better material and better stitching.

I wouldn't just ask about comparing two pair. Call a vendor that hunts every night and ask them what they recommend. Redgy at Valley Creek hunts on a regular basis and I am sure he would recommend the toughest boots and chaps that are available.

I had the same issue with Muck boots, but they're the only boot wide enough that vendors carry on hand. I started using Bama Sockets, and have no issues with tearing the heels out of them anymore, and you can take the bama socks off drenched in sweat, and my socks are dry.

I have a pair of Mucks with the 5 stars I got at Autumn oaks last year, They have a pile of nights on them, and the only visible wear is the Dans logo is almost torn off them.

Did you go up a boot size in order for the bama socks to fit?

Actually I think 2 sizes I bought the bama socks, and then tried the boots on.

.

Here is what I am told about the Grubs Stalking Boot.
It is built like the original muck boot because the guy that owns the company use to own muck boots. After he sold muck boots company a few years ago some cost cutting in the material in the sole plate caused them to wear out.
The Grubs Stalking Boot is suppose to have the issue solved but only time will tell. Hopefully the information on them is correct.

I have the mud lite boots w/yoder chaps. The yoder chaps has a 1000 stitch per sq. in , where as other chaps has about 800 . I have always worn muck boots but not no more . The muck boot will not hold up for me . Good bye muck hello something new (mud lite) , & so far I'm liking it.

Boots

I wear Muck boots with Yoder chaps. They are the most comfortable rubber boot I have ever worn. The reason people have problem with the heel wearing is because the boot is too big. They need to fit snug when new.
