what is the difference? ive seen blue dogs registered as english. where is th line drawn between the two breeds?

The way I see it, the Bluetick was bred for a color trait..whereas the English dogs were not. And if the Bluetick was bred to be a different "purebred" dog, why not the Redtick?

Diversity within the breed is one of the best things the English have going for them. This breed is coming on. They have several breeders who know what it takes to produce good dogs, and that is breeding for dogs that tree coon fast. Lester Nance, Joe House and others in the Walker breed realized this decades ago. Once you start breeding for color, ear length, a certain type of track mouth and other bells and whistles you lose in the areas that really matter. The English guys have a good thing going.
