Training tip #1, see what they are made of before you think about breeding them.

I am not being smart, but why are you considering breeding them? What are you going to do with the pups? I'm just asking because I see to many people breeding dogs and not doing the research needed. Most people on here won't buy a pup anymore that isn't performance or super staked. They want 6 generation all grand. The cost to raise a litter of pup is not cheap and if you can't sell them what plans do you have with the pups you are stuck with? I know people that tried raising a litter of pups and couldn't even give them away. Too many people breed their dog and then try to figure out what they are going to do with the pups.

breeding tips

I will make sure that they are actaul coon hounds before i breed them. im not going to just breed them cause they are my hounds. and i know people perfer the all grand pedigrees and everything. but i know from experience that just cause they have the titles dont mean they are real hounds or good hounds. i know the tricks and all the bs in this sport. but if they do make actaul coon hounds yes i will breed them and sell them. im not going to be asking an arm and leg for each pup. i appreciate the help i do. but im not going to run a puppy mill or breed just to breed.

now would u tell me what u would consider being to clolse to breed. cause i know of ppl telling me different stories all the time. i just want more info on the sport. thanks for ur help. and i know what i have for hounds and i know there pedigrees.
Randy

Just in general , In breeding is Mother to Son or vice versa . Sister to brother or vice versa. Thats' why they called it the Vice Sqaud to Start with. Takes a wiered one to do it. Son to aunt is close and called Line breeding instead of In breeding. Some have had great fortunes bestowed on them by In Breeding . It works, Look at Family histories of Southerners. It also does not work with Yankee geenes anywhere in the Mix. Deaf, dumb , Blind, Stupid or cross eyed. Feeling Lucky? Have a go at it.

lol i have inbred dogs before. back a few years ago in the cur dog world that was the thing to do and i had a few inbred dogs that were ok but they was not as good as their mother or father. if it was me and your dog turns out to be a coon treeing dog i would bred it to the best coon dog i could find and your pups stand a better chance of being coon dogs. if your trying to make money off selling pups i wish you all the luck in the world.lol

SKEETS. for me to tell you the absolute truth. I carried 8, 7 week old pups to the Grand American out of the HOTTEST Things Bloodline Wise You ever Want to get Your hands on Walkers, Back in 1987. I Was FIRM . $200 or take yore ass on. --I sold One.
The best I came out was this past year, when buddies were hunting and some said , "if you ever breed her I want one". LOL So I said I will when she come in so lay $50 in my hand right now and I will hold you one and you get yore lazy ass over to my house and give me another $50 at 8 weeks and you can walk away with that sweet pupppy. A Few did but some seemed to have forgot their way to my house so that is what paid the Puppy chow . And then I resold them. Did NOT HURT My Conscience One little Bitty IOTA Neither. I Broke Even at best . But Hey, That is good messing with Puppies in my opinion, breaking Even. Dealing with all the AHs too . It ain't worth it.

lyle i understand. i use to sell a few pups years ago but ended up looseing money on most of them. now if i have a litter of pups ill keep what i want and just give the rest away, ive never been to good at begging people to buy a pup from me. if i bred a male and female together they both will be coon dogs or i want breed them. its to hard of hunting around here to be hunting a avg. dog and a slick treer want last long either after i climb down the bluffs to look at a empty tree.lol

I give alot away after I make My piks. Alot go to hog hunters and they stand in line for these leps. I might could get a doller or two out of them but Hog hunters are more or less looking for something for almost nothing around hear. about like every body else. I can't blame them the good ones don't last too long unless they would start these pups and put them up till they could dodge a hog. But they won't. So cycle, reycles I recon. I recon I am a
