UKC How do you score it?

Hunting Judge. Scoring a Tree
2 vote to circle (one being the hunting Judge)
2 vote to minus
Lets add one
2 Vote Plus(one being hunting Judge)
2 Vote Circle
How is the tree Scored. This didnt happen but was debated at a hunt. I told them I would get UKC's ruling.

CIRCLE. It takes a majority vote to either plus or minus. in a 4 dog cast a 2-2 vote is always circle.

hunting judge has no more authority on scoreing a tree than any other cast member.... he scores it like he sees it and if there is a question you vote his vote counts the same as everyone elses... takes a majority to plus or minus

I agree that a hunting judge vote on a tree has no more weight than any other cast member. That was the point I was trying to make, but they still wanted to debate it. So I told them I would get the UKC take on it.

Allen left out the reason why you circle. So I thought I would copy this. If you remember the rule it will answer a lot of questions and arguments in the woods.

Thanks Allen and John

Why would this get circled because in the case of a tie breaker it would factor the out come .Ukc needs to make this a deleted rule two two vote should not be circled because of that.

WELL THEN WHY SHOULD IT BE DELETED ? NEXT THEY WILL WAN'T IT PLUS THE TREE TO BREAK THE TIE, THE BUDDY SYSTEM WOULD DELETE ALOT OF TREE'S.JUST TAKE A CHAIN SAW ALONG AND CUT THE TREE DOWN.THAT WAY YOU CAN SEE WHO IS RIGHT AND WHO IS WRONG..

I'm just saying delete it because that is the fair thing. How would you feel if you had a chance to get in the final round in the world and you got beat because a two two vote and it got circled and that kicked you out.I guess I'm just saying the rule in hand can hurt more than the one cast trying to beat the handlers and not letting the best dog win.

as long as everyone scores the same way everyone has the same chance at it happening... this has always been ukcs way of scoring and to change it would really make a mess of things in my opinion

In PKC, YES....because you can win without plus points.
In UKC your argument goes right down the drain because coons seen is the only way you can win so circle/delete doesn't win hunts in UKC, just plus wins.
In other words, nobody goes home in UKC because a tree got circled instead of deleted.
In PKC, they might.

It don't have anything to do with pkc you're telling me that a circle tree don't factor in if two people are tied and the tie has to be broke.Let me know the tie breaking procedure please and if I'm wrong I'll say I'm wrong.

Why would you suggest it be deleted, thay makes zero sense.

How if 2 people say they see a coon and 2 say they don't warrent a delete? You feel the dog doesn't deserve circled?

No I'm saying only the people on the cast know the truth and that is the only way to keep from cheating everybody else .I just say it should be deleted because it does play a factor in the results and I see it being fair. How do we know wich to is telling the truth if it was there or not.Just like a slick tree two two vote it is going to circle it every time that ain't right and yes a circle tree can't win a cast but it can help win.

it can help anyone else win too so you have the same advantage either way... if its there plus it if its not minus it...if it could be circle it

Circle points is the 4th tiebreaker. I've never seen it get that far and I bet you haven't either.

LOL if 2 are saying slick and 2 are saying circle what makes you think the 2 voting to minus it are voting legit? Deleted trees are dumb all the way around in my oppinion. Dog struck, dog treed, dog deserves credit of some sort.

I agree, I never understood why you would act as if something didn't happen just because people didn't agree on the scoring. This also works both ways, people will vote dishonestly to get a tree deleted just as fast as they will to get one circled if it helps them.

I'm with donald, delete that sucker.

I lost on a circle tie breaker the other night, doubt it was a two two vote this time of year but it just as easly could have been. In thin coons it goes past the first couple tie breakers more often when you only make 2 trees in two hours.

It happens a lot more than people think.I didn't mean to stir the pot I was just saying that it shouldn't be circle just because that factors in tie breaking same if two two was minused it still would factor in the tie breaker so delete.
