Uncircle?

Had a friend come by for a visit today and he asked me what I would have done in this situation that their cast found themselves in.

Without going into great detail, basically they had shined this tree for a few minutes and everyone was satisfied to circle it. After they had all voted, and as they were still marking it down on the card, they found the coon. Some argued that the shine time still wasn't up while others said it stays as originally scored.

So let's hear it, what would you have done. Uncircle or not?

Uncircle if the shine time wasnt up and the majority could see the coon. Its the right thing to do for the dogs on that tree. What kind of a hunter wants to screw a dog out of his rightfully earned points.

I would be incredibly shocked if UKC ever supported uncircling in this situation.

John, UKC has written on this board and in the Advisor on numerous occasions that you cannot score a coon before or after the shinetime starts and ends AND they have said on this board that a tree is considered scored once all cast members have voted. Taking those two positions into consideration, I'm 90% sure UKC will say a tree scored stays scored no matter how much time is left. In fact, once scored, THERE IS NO TIME LEFT.

Exactly right......once all cast members have voted, that means the tree is closed. Just another tough break.

Jim your probably right and as soon as a MOH. or a UKC. official tells be that this is a case where we have to ignore what is fair to the dog then i will suport their decision. Until then i will always try to use my vote or opinion to support what is fair to the dog being judged.

Some guys try to find a way to circle the tree instead of trying to find the coon. Use the full shine time and you might be surprised at what all you find.

no way am I gonna settle for circle points when shine time is still running. Circle points should be your last option once shine time is over.

when is the tree considered officially scored. is it after the vote is taken or after it's been put on the card. sounds like it was voted on. but when it was being scored they seen it. i agree after its put on the paper you should not change the score. unminus or uncirlce. i think its a bad break. but how many would want them plus points.

When they shine the tree better seems to me they start to finding Black Holes. They become Physiscistses. I'm looking to where somebody is shining between limbs where there is utter darkness into the Universe beyond . LOL' And saying that darkspot is a coon, LOL Hallelujiah. A dumbass thinks he is gonna ENLIGHTEN ME??? Needs to get back to Walmart and have his optometric presciption refilled . Don't you hate it when you driving down the road and your Walmart glasses prescription expires?

John, speaking as an MOH and UKC Field Rep., the tree stays circled. Once scored, it is scored.

Seems to me unless you are for sure taking minus that you would shine the full 10 and no choice after the 10.
