8 p.m. deadline. Guy signs his dog up at 7:30, then leaves. Master of hounds calls casts out. This guy isn't here. How much time do you give him to get there, if any?

his dog should be scratched. he knows what time the hunt starts. no excuse unless its an emergency and in that case of an emergency he shouldnt be worrying about a coonhunt. however he should be allowed to have someone handle his dog if emergency and given permission from the MOH.

He's good till his cast is ready to go. Then if he's not back. Id scratch him. I've saw them scratched right off the bat at the winter classic. Then I've saw them wait till dark to do it. I think a lot of folks think they have 1 hour after deadline to be back.

I don't think it should be left up to the MOH. The deadline is up and at this point you are doing the person a favor burning up your hunt time. It should be up to the cast members. They know how far they have to go and how long they have to play with.
I think in most cases there would be no problem. If there is there is probubly a reason. Like the same guy doing it often or haveing to go a long wase and an early deadline. If the cast is going to do a favor though it should be up to the cast.

It kinda is up to the cast. If nobody says anything. Nothing will happen. If they do complain. More in likely he's out! I think it would be pretty simple to just write a rule saying. If you miss call out of cards. You gone
