OT...Very sad day today.
I'm an EMT and ran a call today I hope to NEVER EVER have to do again!
Pager went off about 11 am for a pedestrian versus vehicle. I responded to my cousins house. After I got there, I learned that her 2 yr. old son had been backed over with a pick up and he was killed instantly. This was so horrible, not only was it a child, but also my family. I felt so helpless, there was nothing to do for him. My cousin just sat and held him, wouldn't let him go for 2 1/2 hrs. There are no words to say to someone who has just lost a member of their family. I'm just heart sick, the really sad thing is, it was her uncle on her father's side that backed up over him. They took him to the hospital for shock and a breakdown and now I just got word that they took her father in for a break down this evening. No parent is ever suppose to bury a child, especially a baby.
Please keep my whole family in your prayers. It won't bring Leeland back, but pray for them to have strength to make it through these next few days with the viewing and funeral and the weeks following when it really starts to sink in.
