cloning a dog

Do any of you think it will ever happen in the coon hunting world?

I'd sure like to see it happen , but I think most coonhunters are too cheap to try it. LOL

WHAT GOOD WOULD IT DO??? YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE GENETIC MATERIAL, BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO EXACTLY REPRODUCE THE TRAINING, RAISING, ENVIRONMENT, EXPERIENCES, ETC. THAT MADE A PARTICULAR DOG GREAT!!!

How would you begin to register such a thing?

I'd love to clone my Malinois male. Get it down to $10k and that is just about in my ball park. Wouldn't wait till he was dead though.

Well , #1 , of the two dogs I've personally owned that I'd like to see cloned , I'd like to think I am a little better trainer now than I was back then.
#2 , It'd be nice to know that the pup I was working with had all the right tools it needed.
And , #3 , even if the training , raisng , environment , etc. weren't exactly the same , how do you know that the clone wouldn't actually turn out better?
This stuff about everything having to be "exactly" the same is just a guess. Heck , I (and everybody else) may have done something to hold the original back from being even better than it was!
I always love it when folks think they know about something they've never tried before. LOL

YOU BEING A BETTER TRAINER, RECOGNIZING WHETHER A PUP HAS POTENTIAL TOOLS, HOLDING BACK TRUE POTENTIAL IN A DOG, I'D SAY THESE ARE THE TRUE GUESSES!!! CALL THAT PERSON THAT WENT TO EUROPE AND SPENT ALL THAT MONEY TO CLONE 'LITTLE WHAT'S HIS NAME' AND SEE IF THEY HAD ANY SUCESS CLONING 'PERSONALITY', PROBABLY NOT, CONSIDERING PERSONALITY IS NOT GENETIC MATERIAL!!! I KNOW, I KNOW, MORE GUESSES FROM SOMEONE WHO HASN'T TRIED IT!!!

I really would not even consider it myself because cloning is man being GOD.

I just don't get how the one gal on her way to prison was able to afford to clone the pit...

Guess she had to spend all her $ some way before spending 7 yrs in prison. That's 7 years somebody else is raising the dog. I about fell over when she got a visit allowed with the dog in jail!

And to think what's his name & wife sued over ownership of his sperm while he was in prison! Then we have the guy that just legally adopted his 30 ish girlfriend to protect his $ since they can't take away $ set to go to kids.

What is this world coming to? That is a lot of $ wasted that would pay a lot of past mortgages or feed a lot of kids for a few months.

Well , I'd like to believe every trainer out there improves themselves with every pup they train.
And , I haven't ever seen anyone who can pick out the best pup of the litter at weening age. Can you do it?
And , haven't you ever had a " DANG , I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT " or " I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS" moment with a pup?
Really? You were good at all these right from the start?

LOL..Guys only reason I posted this is because I saw a show where a woman was in jail and she got her dog cloned..And the first thing I thought of was wonder how long it will be before a big money man clones a hound..I wouldnt do it, nor do I agree with it.
