face barking

I was having the same problem with my young female where whenever another dog would bump her she would look over and blow so I started carring a limb with some leaves on it and id stand behind her watching her tree whenever she would go to blow id pop her with the limb and make her look back up and tree I done this 4 or 5 times and she focusing on just treeing instead of the dog beside her but every dog is different maybe this will help Zach

Get you a good stick and when he does it whoop him with it. But be consistent. As long as he is treed and he does it then whoop and and do it everytime til he stops. Had a female face barkin and this worked on her. Hope this helps

Get you a double coupler and put with a dog that can take a lot of crap..stay behind him and correct him if he starts acting up. They will soon learn they have to work with the other dogs treeing at the tree. I guarantee this will work, after just a couple of lessons.

All these suggestions will only get your dog light broke, which means maybe he wont pull the crap once your at the tree, but it wont change the dogs disposition.

The bottom line is if the dog is aggressive you will not change it, you will either have to hunt it alone or do the right thing and move on to the next one.

Excalibur your Mailbox is full

Actually ,,i usually stand behind them with my fist cocked,,and as soon as you see him look over ,,Bam,,then praise him up..because you stop the bad behavior and get him back treeing..they don't even know your hitting them.

Well ill hunt him and see he just trees in on spot and don't want to be moved he don't go around the tree trying to start nothing it's just he gets we're he wants to be and not budge but I'll try and see if not I'll try to get him treeing off the tree and let the other dogs tree on the wood and him back off and sit down and tree that would keep him out of all trouble then but if that don't work then one night y'all hear a shot toward oklahoma y'all will know it didn't work lol but thanks for all the help I just wanted to hear from different people what has worked for them in the past it's a shame to have something that you raised and worked hard on and something like this happened

Many will not agree with me but this is an age thing in many cases. Is the dog aggressive on the chain? Most time it is not aggression with a young hound it’s just excitement. If he is doing that good it is time for about 6 months by himself anyway. That will give him time to calm down and grow up a little. Hopefully he will settle down. I have seen this work several times but not if he is truly being aggressive. Whatever you do don’t put the pup in a situation where he thinks he has to defend himself like double coupling the dog.

I didn't say to, tie it to a Alligator..you need a dog that ..can take a lot .like a pup trainer that don't care if pups jump all over them.

do some research on the dogs behind him in his breeding. if they was tree fighters, face barkers, blowers , you will not stop it. and face barking and blowing is just a prelude or a wolf ticket to fight.
if a dog will fight for the sweet spot where the coon climbed, it won't be long till it will fight over the dead coon too.
if a dog has tree fighters in its breeding, no amount of beating, shocking, casteration,or pulling its teeth will stop it. you may break it of doing it when you are there, light broke.
many many tree fighters will not show any signs of it untill they are around the age of yours. and every aligator i have seen was the best coondog a person could ask for if it was not ill.
and most ill tree dogs are the dogs that show the most affection toward people.
