Beagles & Rabbit Hunting in Western NC...

Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a member of the board for YEARS, but mainly just on coonhounds.

We hunt Treeing Walkers, but we also have Beagles too.

My daddy has rabbit hunted for YEARS, and now Quincy and I have gotten into it pretty good! we hunt about every saturday we get a chance to.

I'm starting this thread to meet new people and to also help keep up with our hunts and to post videos, etc.

My dad's beagles are registered, but I couldn't tell you what line they are. lol. We have 4 male beagles. Daddy has 3 tri colored ones, Amos, Duke and Hershey. Amos is the youngest around 7. Duke is about 10 and I think Hershey is 11 or 12. Quincy has a redtick beagle that is a grade dog his name is Geronimo.

Our buddy Barry has 2 beagles a male and a female. The male's name is JT and the female is Mater. (Just like off of Cars...like Tamater, without the Ta!)

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself!

Good to meet you, i am from the asheville area, been into beagles for about a year, joined a club in Morganton, like making new friends and running in different places, i have all grade dogs, they are upper medium speed, maybe we can get a bunch of people together and run sometime

sounds good! i'm working on loading up some videos of our dogs! we just got our stud puppy out of our geronimo dog this past week. we named him chappo since he was geronimo's son. lol.

he's english colored and so ugly he's cute!

Had an awesome time off rabbit hunting this weekend! On Christmas eve Me, Quincy and Mike went and we killed one.

Then on Monday the 26th, we killed 4 before 11am, and it was awesome!

I've got some good pics and videos to post as soon as I can ever get them all loaded up.

Christmas Eve 2011!

Dogs we had:

Quincy-Duke, Hershey, Geronimo, Amos
Mike-Black Jack, Ringo, Tiny

A short video I was able to get before we killed the rabbit. We dumped them out, they were struck and jumped in about 5 minutes, my hubby ran around the edge of the building and the rabbit ran by he shot once missed, shot again and got him!

the rabbit...big buck...Hershey is on Quincy's leg, and Duke is the other dog.

Dec 26...

Rabbit #1--My cousin Kayshala's first time ever rabbit hunting, 1st time killing anything! One thing's for sure, she didn't waste a bit of meat! There was NO head left! lol.

Rabbit #2--Wesley got this one!

Rabbit #3--Lyle and his son got this one!

Rabbit #4--Wesley got another one!!

Wesley with both of his rabbits!

The total day's catch! Best day we have had ALL season! lol. These 4 were the ones they killed...if they would have KILLED all that they SHOT at...lol...there would have been a few more! lol.

As I can get my good videos up and going i'll go back and post them too. I take my digital cameras to the woods every time and have some good videos of them!

They are hunting now, and Q said they got one already, so maybe will have some more pics to add later!

They hunted these days:

Dec 30
Ran several killed 1. Elusive hiding bunnies!

Dec 31
Ran about 8 killed 2. Those were energizer bunnies! Going and going and going! lol.

Jan 2
Ran about 5 or 6 killed 1. Quincy said the wind was TERRIBLE!

Wont be getting to hunt much on Saturdays unless it's evening hunts, we got Turkey shoots scheduled at our club next 3 saturdays in a row!
