I now got two garmin collars less than a yr old that will not stay charged, i can't even get from the house to the first drop before they are going dead or dead. Has anyone had this much trouble with collars not staying charged?? What causes it, not being used as much ? What have ya done to fix it?

I had one doing the seamen thing,and a friend had has one also.Garmin told me to update it.That didn't fix it so I had to send it back.

i check mine after blue light goes out to see if they really charged turn 220 on collar on go to dogs find collar press enter collar stats come up check battery charge if not charged clean terminals and recharge collar didn't get charged in the first place has happened many times so now i check ahead of time most of time they are charged but not always nothing worse than flat batteries hope this helps

checked mine last night 3 collars all full bars used 2 on dogs 1 on 6x6 like to know where its at without my glasses lol left one on 6x6 on still has one bar at 17 hours these collars are over 2years old!

I also had a collar around a year old that wouldn't take a charge... so I changed the battery and haven't had a problem, but we'll see in about 12 months!

You can find DC 30 batteries on Amazon for about $35.

We have six between my father & I all the rest seem to be working fine as of yet. It does appear neither one of them are charging completly up, I usually clean out the charging port anyways but I tried doing so again and they arent charging. The one collar hasn't been right since we bought it, all the others have out performed it but the other one I haven't had any trouble with it since we bought it last winter. Getting to that time of year it will soon be time to run the coyote dogs, and collars staying charged is a necessity.
