Feist / Treeing walker crosses

I know of some that made good squirrle dogs that were bred this way. How about coon dogs. Has anyone had any luck getting good pleasure coon dogs out of a walker feist cross

Don't know about walkers, but I raise English and Treeing Feist crosses. The ones I have are great at both coon and squirrel. They seem to have kept the hound nose, just in a smaller package.

I have seen pictures of your dogs. I like their looks. What do you like about the feist hound cross over the cur hound crosses.

One of the main reasons I used feist, was size. I didn't want a 60lb. dog for treeing a squirrel. Most of my females go about 30lbs. and my males usually go 35-45lbs. To me its a perfect size for squirrel hunting, but they are still big enough to keep up with my coonhounds when coonhunting. The brains and personality are also another thing I like. The line of feists I use really throw that terrier smarts and grit in them. I have brought several of them in the house that were just born housebroke. I didn't have to teach them anything. I like a dog smart enough to figure things like that out. Their personallity is also great. I have 3 of them that ride around in the truck with me. They make great companion dogs. They are not hyper, or bouncing around in the vehicle. If I stop somewhere to let them out to pee, they will do their business and then come right back and get in the truck. I think the terrier give them that desire to want to be around their owners, and to try their best to please them. I got lucky. I enjoy hounds and feists both. My crossing them worked perfectly for what I wanted. I definately got the best of both breeds.

I don't have anything to get rid of right now. I will have some next year though. I am about a couple of hours from Grayson.
