Garmin

I heard that if you used certain type of the rechargable batteries that it would burn your garmin up. Do you have to use acaline batteries only.

I tried rechargeables when I first got my Garmin and didn't like them. They work good for the first couple charges and then the batteries start getting weak and wont hold a charge as long so you have to charge the batteries every time you hunt.

Now I just use the regular Rayovac batteries from Wal-Mart and they will last 6 or 8 nights of hunting. I get 10 for about 6 dollars.

I have never used anything but NIHM rechargeables in my Garmin. Mine stays on start to finish and I keep the light on. I recharge every 3rd night.

I use nothing but rechargables in my garmin. Here's a hint not all rechargeables are created equal, buy the best you can afford and in the menu options switch they battery type to NIHM they'll last longer.

Highly recommended for the 320

The 320 uses just a little more juice(now much, though) because it is doing so much more than the 220. In the alkaline mode, the low battery alarms start going of at 40% and get very annoying. In the rechargable setting, the alarm is disabled. I am using EveryReady 2000mah. I bought a pair of batteries and charger for 10 bucks at Dollar General and an extra pair for 5 bucks. Best money spent in a long time.
