swollng spot on head ?

dog has once again got a swollen spot on side of head right at his ear dont know if this time its a snake bite or what it is but looks like it may be draining some but just wondering could i take a needle and drain it out to get it down any danger in hurting him? the vet has cut into this place before when this happened before but didnt find anything to be causing it. any medicine i could give him to help him out dont look like he in too much pain and still eating so that think it must not be bothering him much.

I had one that was bitten by another dog on the side of the head. It kept swelling and going away, it didn’t seem to bother him any but it made his head dang near twice as big as it should be. I finally held him down and cut it open on the bottom of it. It drained a lot but never came back. That’s what I did but I wouldn’t suggest it to you because there is a high risk of infection.

I had one bit by a coon. I gave her some antibiotics. It didn't look bad just a knot. She got better for a few days. Then the next Sunday. Her head was as big as a basketball looked like. I took a big cattle needle and drained it. Was bad!!! Took to vet. He said I had gave enough antibiotics to knock it in the head but not kill it. It came back stronger. So this time I gave meds for 3 weeks. Wound up draining it several more times at home. So maybe you should drain it and give antibiotics but give enough to kill the infection.

CHECK IT OUT

LOOK AND FEEL AROUND BACK IN THE DOGS MOUTH FOR A STICK/ SLIVER OF SOME KIND, YOU GOT PORKY'S WHERE YOU ARE FROM? COULD HAVE A QUILL. ANY OF THESE WILL GET INFECTED AND DEPENDING ON LOCATION OF THE SOURCE COULD CAUSE SWELLING ON THE OUTSIDE. <v>

Just had one go thru that from a quill he got nearly a year ago. Usually takes care of itself.
