Well said! If they dont go to the right hands, it dont matter what they are. I have raised plenty of pups. And done the Harry semen thing, bred to the top studs and all that. I know what it costs. And I also know the results. If I can break even on a litter, I will take that everytime. I have given away more than I have sold. Thats the only way to make sure they get into the right hands. Your right, they are worth what someone is willing to pay, I just aint going to pay that crazy prize. I have done so in the past and never had one to turn out. My point I guess is this. Buy the pup for 1000$, raise it up and train it. Chances are if its not a dud its pretty mediocre and you will be lucky to get your money back. Just sit back and buy a nice started pup and then you will know what you are getting. Its just crazy I guess to see these guys blow these pups up like its the cross of the century or something. Like they are the only ones that have every raised a good pup.
** most of the successful breeders have one thing in common and its not their great insight of knowledge of the breed
** they just got lucky and happened upon a really good reproducing female. Yes,just by luck. and that female put them on the map.
Your ideal that successful breeding is just luck may very well explain why you are selling pups so cheap and giving most of them away. I agree, not many would pay $1000 for a lottery ticket and any breeder who's breeding practices are centered around dumb luck is just selling tickets for a chance.
