That's pitiful, I can't stand a theif either. If you have a picture, put it on here and we can keep our eyes and ears open here in WV... I pray you get her back. What is wrong with people?, that is why I am scared to death to go to Autumn Oaks, and all the big hunts, or even local hunts for that matter. I always try to stay near my dogs, or stay where I can see them, even if it is at Wendy's or Mcdonalds, while grabbing a bite to eat. Keep us updated...

thiefs

sure are a lot of dogs getting stolen nowdays, i have a 85 yr old hunyting buddy named jess hamby. he raised neosho river skinner and over 100 others that he made nt ch out of. he has given dogs to any kid that just looked interested in hunting. needless to say about 3 months ago they stole 2 of his dogs right out of the pen by his house. i think it takes a pathetic human being to do this to anyone. i just dont understand it and dont think i want to understand the thought pattern of a thief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know if it was the dog or not but someone at the shell station said there was a walker female turned in at the humane shelter. Dale Rakestraw would know his number is 260-668-2679. Hope it is your female and you get her back safe

checked with the shelter today thay havent had any walkers brought in im 100% sure she was taken see i left the door on the dog box open so she coud get in if she whanted to. some one cut the leash and closed the door and put the leash part way in so it looked like she was in the box. so know i have to explain to my 5 year old son why some one would take his dog! he bought this dog with his own money from doing chores! it's crazy that people can get away doing this

let me tell you a story about animal control. they picked up a beagle i had on rabbits one day , i couldnt figure out where he went, so all night i looked for him the next day we called animal control and asked if they picked up a beagle. they swore we havent picked up any beagles, i described him told them he had a shock collar on and a regular collar on with my name and phone number, they swore we have no beagles but we could come look, so we did guess who was there my beagle with the collar and shock collar strapped to his cage but theysaid they didnt have him.they are a bunch of crooks and i would physically go look , because if he is there they wont tell you over the phone . good luck with finding him or her

That exact same thing happened to a buddy of ours. His hound came up missing right out of his yard. it had a bright orange collar on with a name plate on it. The pound said that hadn't been in that area, and didn't recall picking up a walker dog. Well just out of curiousity my husband and I went to the pound just to look, and sure enough there he was. We had to pay to get our buddies dog out of puppy jail.

I hope you find this dog for that young'ins sake. That's terrible that "a so called adult" would steal from a precious child.. Bless his little heart.

Yup one night my 2 dogs got into a retierment home and treed on the only tree in that whole place right smack in the middle of it. I was about .5mile away was going to them when a cop stops picks me and my buddies dad up, asked us if we were hunting i said yea gettin my dogs they are over there somewhere but i dont hear them, he said they went there and animal control took them. They were all scared cause they thought they had a bear so a old lady had pic of the cops with mag light and sidearms drawn tryin to get the dogs off the tree lmao. Then went to the station they said i could get them tomorrow no biggy. I go to the pound and they tell me they dont have them while my tracking collars are sittin on the desk! so i said let me look went out back and they were there then they tryed charging me 75$ apeice i asked what for and they said room and board, which they were there for maybe 4 hrs and wernt fed at all. I lost it as i was actival hunting with them and my state has a law saying they cannot take a dog that is activaly hunting so i had to get the game warden involved and we got it fixed. Oh did i mention i was 15yrs old at the time. So needless to say i would go check if you have the means to and i hope you get your dog back.

Same here , I was told that I WOULD NOT be called even though the number was right there on the dogs collar IF the Michigan Dog license tag was not also attached to the dog. For years I never attached them because they usually get snagged and lost while hunting but now I try to.
Most act like they're saving the dog by getting it away from hunters and some are volunteers that don't know a walker from a Holstein.

We was talkin to the folks at the Shell station & they described your dog or close without seein either. During me questioning them we came to the conclusion it was a walker female. She was takin across the road to the humane society is what we was told "SO" what they told you sounds like bunk???

If your around there or know someone that can for ya I'd get on it? May very well not be,"BUT",~"MIGHT" be.

If I was doin the lookin I'd be on this ASAP...."IN CASE"? Leads are leads & some lead to dead ends but some don't.

Best of luck, sharin what I know.

They should have some kinda records of what & who brought in dogs? The Shell folks should be able to tell you what employee's where hands on involved., Have a picture of the dog. Was the dog draggin part of a lead? Who or what did they look like that they turned the dog over to?

ISN'T THERE SOMEONE THAT LIVES AROUND THERE THAT COULD HELP OUT A FELLOW COONHUNTER THAT MIGHT ALSO KNOW THE RITE LOCAL'S OR SUMTHIN?

I can sympathize with your situation, but if your dog was doing a lot of barking and jumping around why wouldnt you return her to her box. Sounds like she was aggitated and chewed loose.. Think about it, no one stealing your dog is gonna take the time to cut the leash, and sure isn't going to steal a dog that is drawing attention to its self barking.
Its a bad thing but a little common sense could have gone a long way.
