Flood Relief – Please Help!

Many of you know Hoosier Tree Dog Alliance President - Chris Powell who has served tirelessly for Indiana hunters for the past six years. Just two days ago Chris and his family suffered a devastating flash flood that took away many of their outbuildings and equipment. Luckily the Powell family is just fine and we thank God for that!

Unfortunately this disaster was uninsured and the repair and replacement costs could reach $50,000. We at the Hoosier Tree Dog Alliance have decided to step up and help Chris and his family just as he has been there for us over the years.

The HTDA will immediately begin accepting donations on the Powell’s behalf and we will be hosting some additional fund raisers that will be announced just as soon as the details are nailed down.

Please send your contributions to:
HTDA
c/o Powell’s

Please cross post this to other sites…

Jerry,

Was this also The Vine location where the Powell's held Christian retreats and coonhound events?

They sure seem like great folks. I'll say a prayer for them.

Yes, Marc thank you for pointing out some important details I left out.

Chris and his wife Kari run a Christian Outreach Ministry called The Vine http://vineadventures.org/index.html The cabins that were lost in this flood were those used to house families during these weekend and summer vacation ministries.

The Vine, Inc. is an official non profit organization, so all donations will completely tax free. We will provide each person or business with a w-4 for their donation or services.

Thank you again!

Thanks to all for emails and prayers. We are digging out here and thought I would post a few pictures.

Probably just as easy to post a link:

If you wanna know why we exist or what The Vine is all about :

Wilderness Camp

The Vine is used to educate kids on farm life and agriculture. My kids are instructing kids from the local elementary school.

Dad's Camp
What is missing in todays young men as they enter into adult hood? Childhood mentors. Dads and Sons converge on The Vine for a week of mentoring and learning about what it is to be a Christian man in today's world.

These boys took turns carrying this cross to the top of the hill where it was set in the ground. They have a small dose of reality of the price that was paid for their souls long ago.

Do you think these boys leave with a different perspective?

Fruit of the Vine

A few of the people who have chosen a life of service to Jesus Christ during their stay here at The Vine

Your help will greatly help me. But more importantly it will help impact lives for Jesus Christ. We will prove faithful with contributions.
