plusing up green eyes

I would like to hear ukc's opinion on this. After many years of hunting behind these dogs we all know that coon's eyes shine yellow or amber never in my life have I seen one that their eyes shined green. So here is the situation three dogs. Tree on a super viney tree that you couldn't see the body of the animal but from a distance you can see two bright green eyes looking at ya. Well the judge says plus it cause we all seen the eyes but we all know its not a coon what is every one elses opinion on this

I think I would have to be there to make that call but on every cast I have ever been on, eyes are plussed.

The only thing I can think of with eyes that might shine green is a housecat and they don't usually hide all that well. But I agree with Jim were are coonyhunting aren't we?

shake a vine...that sucker will move and become visible...and i dont think it "breaks any rules"

ive seen guys get excited about rain or dew drops, spider eyes etc...(dont know if they are actually spiders..could be mice or something? but we always called em spider eyes..)

ive never seen a cast plus anything that all we could see was eyes..if you can get both eyes you should be able to get the mask of a coon...and often times that ole ringtail sticks out...

if all 4 dogs are there, or 3 and yours is not, or just the judges, and you honestly do only see eyes, your up a creek IMO...the vote will beat you out..had it happen many times with moron cheaters circling slicks...i will not circle a tree that they cant show me a "place of refuge" ie HOLE or somewhere that honestly cannot be shined..but get 3 dogs on it and its a circle tree (unless its a tiny sapling or something odd..) or if the judges dog is there..your done..doesnt matter..unfortunately thats how it goes with hunting judges...

id try my hardest to prove em wrong before i left the tree...

usually never win a cast when i speak up like that...but guys know i wont sit back and take their cheatin ways....been threatened a few times that if i didnt shut my mouth id be scratched...OK! well you'll never carry a score card again either moron!

dont sit back and take it...thats my opinion...although you'll get out voted, i still make my opinion known..

Reflected light has to do with refraction of light. There are many physical factors that affect refraction of light.

At best it would be a very flimsy argument. Heck, I have seen my dogs in my kennel at night reflect a wide variation of colors that prompted a discussion at the time.

I've plussed eyes before especially summer with the leaves on cause if you had to find the body to here in the summer you'd be hard pressed to ever score a tree. But the eyes are always that amber color that coons eyes shine just never green ones. I just know if we was pleasure hunting and my dog was on that tree it would be getting the switch and sent off that tree

I wonder if an albino or odd pigmented coon would have a different color. I know older animals with catracts in their eyes shine different.

Something tells me you might ruin a dog or two if you do this very much. I think we may get a variety of colors in eyes that look back at us due to the light being shined at them. With these new lights coming out with LED,colored lens, and even halogen bulbs, you may see differant color eyes.
If you have ever seen a fox or coyote bouncing across a field while night time predator hunting, you might witness fire red eyes coming at you.

Down here they shine amber, green, yellow and red. I've knocked out coons with all those colors shining.

I've also seen a possum's shine amber....

I saw two wide eyes across the river last night that couldn't be any thing but a gator but they where white, not orange. I have never seen a gator that didn't have orange eyes. It must be my new LED head. I've yet never seen a green eyed coon in my life but all my dogs eyes shine back in different colors.

Your cast would change if you hunted any club north of me Jim. Way to many porkies to score glowing eyes. I've scored tons of eyes as well, but knowing the area and knowing what your looking at you can't score just glowing eyes. If all involved in the cast knew it wasn't a coon then you all should have been scratched. JMO

Eyes...............

I have seen a many of coons eyes shine green, TreeBlitzen, you said if you were pleasure hunting your dog would have been switched.......you have got to be kidding right ?

I have seen coon eyes shine red, green, yellow, many dif colors at over 30+ years of Coonhunting............

You failed to mention how high up this green eyed critter was, I am guessing pretty high or you should have seen the body.

Well of course if the cast agrees it isn't a coon you minus or scratch. Duh.

When your dogs tuck their tails and look out in the dark and you throw your led out that way and see GREEN EYES it's a BLACK PANTHER licking his chops. Everybody knows that!
