the runnoffs are a secret, like finding a pot of gold.
Dave,
I understand ur point of view but when the choice is made to have this hunt so far west, surely u can understand that alot of ppl ohio wv pa va etc are not goin to go to this hunt ,but they would go to a hunt local, anybody fromthose area that does wanna make the drive are gona go regardless if there is a local hunt or not, do u see what im sayin. Im not knocking NHBA for havin the hunt in IOWA , its long overdue that MO IA area get some big hunts, great running!!!! BUT it makes no sense to close this weekend to me for clubs 15hrs away for example. The distance will not affect the two. The guys I know in those areas out west, Ive heard em say they should be allowed to have hunts on other closed dates, becasue they aint driving 15hrs to ohio for nationals for example. To me the distance is so great in this economy having local hunts back east and the NHBA days being in IA do not affect eachother.
The biggest knock for alot of ppl driving that far a hunt is that it is NOT elimination style, ive talked to alot of ppl that are gona go to nationals because of the new format that have not been goin.
Again im not tryin to knock NHBA at all, sound slike the org is headed in the right direction due to the hard work of some good ppl. Im just stating an opinion here, we plan on goin to NHBA days, ive just talked to ALOT of ppl in the east that CANT AFFORD to drive that far with gas prices like they are ,especially if its not somewhat elimination style, but these ppl would definately attend local trials that weekend because they can afford it. I can see closing hunts within 4 or 5 hrs from that hunt, but whe n u r talking 15 16 17 hrs , ppl just can afford it
