What's going on? Any good advice appreciated.
Ok I've got a 5yr old finished coon dawg. She's a blue English with plenty of go and lots of know how but I've got a problem. Here's just a little background information so you know where I'm at. I've had this dog since a 1yr. old pup and been pretty well pleased with her since. She's always been pretty straight except for the occasional possum or two and had ran a deer in her day but none since she was very young. I nearly all but quite this past summer but you could say I was 5 night a weeker since I've started before that. She's always been my focus and has no problem treeing a old ringtail.
Here's my problem since I've started back I've been hunting her with a couple pups I had in hopes of speeding things along with the training. However the hunting has been tough a old ringtail seems like he is just next to nonexistence? Don't get me wrong my spots have always been tough and we do manage to tree them here in there but just not like I know she really can. That being said and still the problem continues to grow of the last three times I've had here out she's managed to make a hole at least once every night? I just don't know what's going on, is it coon is it trash what? She probably hasn't seen a coon hit the ground in two years or so you reckon this is playing any part? She's always loved a fight but not seeing them hasn't really ever seemed to affect her before I mean she still goes and loves the hunt. Any ideas on what's going on with the holes, what's in them and how to get her on the right track again? I appreciate your time, any useful input or advice is much appreciated also, thanks Jordan.
