My English male had siezures when he was 8 months old and now shows no interest in a caged coon what so ever. Prior to that he was really showing interest and was on the road to make a good hound. Now he just seems like he isn't all there in the woods and doesn't even hardly smell the coon. Does anyone have suggestions he is just now one year and I also know training a male is alot harder than a female from what many have told me.

I was told seizures used to show up often. There is probably nothing you can do about this young dog. I would contact the breeder and try another pup. But there is no miracle cure. Never breed this dog it doesn't need to be back in the gene pool.

well since i am the breeder i guess ill keep trying with him and see what happens. he hasnt had a siezure since.

MOST DOGS THAT I HAVE SEEN THAT HAVE SIEZURES WILL DO IT AGAIN AT SOME POINT.

i had a buddy that had a pup that kept having sezures he would hunt butjust be going along and and go into a sizure and fall over i thought it was worms but he said he wormed it regurally he would foam at the mouth eyes go back in his head that was back in 60s i think he finally put him down

at that age and with the seizures why would you waist your time trying to train it. something is wrong with the pup and with no more than it was doing just move on to something else.
