reviews

Can't find alot of reviews on the DC 40. How are they working out? Surely there are alot of hunters using them now. I have the DC 30, and get along allright with them. If the 40 is not as good or better, why buy one if you can still get the 30?

i've only had the dc-40 about 3 month's ,I think the colder weather has more to do with battery life then again when i first got i used house charger but now i,ve been using car charger so who know's. as far as what i like about i've never lost contact with the dc-40 and have lost contact with dc-30 when hunting two dog's.

Mine holds charge just fine and I have it on 5 second updates.

It lasts the same as the DC 30. Really no difference in the collars except the charging port is much better on the 40.

Are you running them in normal mode or battery saver? If you are useing rechargeables you might want to try battery saver mode.

If not you might check and make sure it is set for Alkaline batteries. Look in your owners manuel on page 44 in mine or on System Setup on which ever page it is on in your book. Might ajust your back light level and shut off time to.

DC40

Mine holds a charge just fine. Been using it a couple months now. Idont have a dc30 to compare it to but it is better than the two dc20's i have and has always seemed to do as good as my hunting buddies dc30's. I'm sure you could get the battery problem taken care of under warranty.

.

The light on the DC 40 is not as bright as the one on the DC 30. I have had many a customer think they have them turned off only to find out they are putting them away with the light still flashing. You need to hold the off button a few seconds until the light is out and then double check it.

I have a DC40 that is 2-3 months old. A couple days ago I turned it off after a hunt and an hour or so later it wouldn't turn on. Put it on the charger and the blue light would never start blinking. It seems as though the battery is fried.
