Thanksgiving Trapping Tradition

We always hunt as a Family around the Holidays as I'm sure most do.

My Sons and I set traps on Thanksgiving and two days later had these fine Bobcats and 1 possum.

Not too bad for 4 trap sets out there, and perfect timing for the relatives to visit.

favorite photo, -glad after the first cat we started to carry the camera--who would have thought 2 in a day with 4 traps out.

Good Deal !

Family, Nice pics. A family tradition you should try to continue... I also enjoy trapping. Unfortunately the laws in my state limit me to box traps. The ultimate would be for me to walk into my traps one day and see a bobcat.
Did manage to catch four fisher a couple of weeks ago. I will have to settle with that for now.

Talk about setting in the right place at the right time. Two cats with four traps. That will be tough to beat.

Congratulations !!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments we caught one coon right where that cat is sittin today.

my 4 year old ran to the sets today, I tried explaining to him we dont always have a catch, of course Dad was wrong and the first one we checked held that boar coon, we dont kill coons on the property we have folks from twon turn them loose here(its an old Rock Quarry)

That boy never complained one time about snags and brush and I seen him several times just walking at a steady pace/peacefull enjoying the woods....I'm well pleased with this.

and of course we have talked about setting more traps.....

jj hammer from what we can gather cats are selling out and in demaned I expect 80-100$ skinned and there is a taxidermy market where the buyer has paid and extra 20-50$ for a whole cat. Thats in northwest missouri, and the cats are fully primed here end of december.

I've sold them caught from this time they seem to bring about 80$average ...being caught around this last week of november and the first weeks of december...they seem to really move.
