sick dog

spot has been sick for a couple days. he acts lethargic, he felt like he was running a fever yesterday. i started him on some penicillin yesterday, gave him some Tylenol. he is still eating good, his stool looks good, and he is still urinating. he is drooling bad and coughs occasionally. i've given him ivomec every 1-2 months his whole life, just had a dose last week. he still gets out of his house a little but not much, any advise?

You should take his temp. I always have a thermometer in my dogs medicine box. they normally runn around 100.1. Could be a whole lot of things. I wouldn't give any antibiotics unless you know there is an infection.

he still acting about the same, vet out of office today can't see him until the morning. i think he just feels bad, i don't think he's that weak. just got him out of the pen, he still able to jump in the dogbox. i noticed he vomited up greenish looking liquid today.

thanks, i read up on it, a big dog would have to ingest 7 500mg tablets at one time before they get toxic affects. i'm glad i just gave him one. i guess i'm to used to working on humans not dogs.

Ney Nate!!!!

I never seen this post until today. My Gr.Nt.Ch.RED had kinda the same symptoms a couple years ago.He had 2 forms of Lyme Disease.Of course,it could be anything.I hope it isn't what RED had though.Even though he pulled thru it okay, his voice has never been the same since.Get him to the vet ASAP.Best of luck to you buddy.I hope all ends well for you.
